Joshu.AI, LLC d/b/a Livarya (“Livarya,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates DinnerDesk at www.dinnerdesk.co. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We are committed to handling your data responsibly. DinnerDesk is a household tool — the information you share with us (your family’s dietary needs, your grocery preferences) is personal, and we treat it that way.
Short version: We collect what we need to make the service work, we don’t sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.

How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the DinnerDesk service
- Generate personalized AI-powered meal plans and recipes
- Build and display grocery lists with live pricing
- Enable grocery cart integration with supported retailers
- Process subscription payments and manage your account
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts)
- Respond to support requests and inquiries
- Monitor for and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
- Derive a household taste profile using AI to improve future meal plan personalization
- Receive and respond to in-app bug reports submitted by users
We may in the future send marketing or promotional communications to users who have opted in. You will always have the ability to opt out of marketing emails via an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

DinnerDesk uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies to understand how your data is handled.
AI Data Processing
DinnerDesk uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate meal plans and recipes. When you request a meal plan, we transmit relevant portions of your household profile to Anthropic’s servers for processing. This data includes:
- Number of people in your household
- Dietary restrictions and allergies
- Food preferences and disliked ingredients
- Cooking preferences, budget, and cuisine types
- Current pantry state
In addition to meal plan generation, DinnerDesk uses the Anthropic Claude API for: generating individual recipes (including via the Dinner Roulette feature), and deriving a household taste profile from your submitted meal ratings. When taste profile derivation runs, aggregated rating history is transmitted to Anthropic alongside your household preferences. No personally identifying information is included in any of these requests.
We do not transmit your name, email address, or payment information to the AI provider. Please review our AI Ethics & Transparency Policy for a full explanation of how AI is used in DinnerDesk and what that means for your data.
Kroger Integration
DinnerDesk integrates with the Kroger API to provide live grocery pricing and optional cart push functionality for Kroger and affiliated stores.
We do not store your Kroger account credentials. Kroger account authentication is handled entirely through Kroger’s official OAuth system. DinnerDesk receives only a temporary access token that allows us to interact with your cart on your behalf during an active session.
Grocery list items and ZIP codes are transmitted to Kroger’s API to retrieve pricing and availability information. Your use of the Kroger integration is also subject to Kroger’s Privacy Policy.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how users interact with DinnerDesk. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized where possible and is used solely to improve the Service. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly by design and does not use cookies or fingerprinting.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
When you delete your account:
- Your account and all associated household data are permanently and immediately deleted from our systems
- There is no recovery window — deletion is irreversible
We may retain certain data for longer periods where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can view and export your account data at any time from your account settings
- Correction: You can update your household profile, dietary preferences, and account information at any time
- Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data through your account settings
- Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format by contacting us at legal@livarya.ai
- Opt-out of marketing: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email

Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Passwords stored using industry-standard hashing
- Row-level security on all database tables
- Access controls limiting which systems can access user data
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
DinnerDesk is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where feasible, notify registered users via an in-app notification.
